These healthy baked onion bhajis are a lighter version of the traditional fried snack, perfect for those looking for a healthier alternative without compromising on flavor. They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, packed with aromatic spices and fresh herbs.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup chickpea flour

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 200C 400F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

In a large mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, rice flour, baking powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt

Add thinly sliced onions and chopped fresh coriander to the bowl, then gradually add water while mixing until a thick batter forms

Scoop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping them into small rounds

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving
